Moleskine

It's been a long time and I stop working on this material.

Official App

Moleskine is a brand of notebooks, diaries, travel guides, notebooks, bags, suitcases and albums produced by Moleskine Spa, an Italian company. Moleskine is an Italian manufacturer, papermaker and product designer founded in 1997 by Francesco Franceschi, based in Milan, Italy. It produces and designs luxury notebooks, and also includes planners, sketchbooks, leather backpacks, journals, wallets and various accessories and stationery.

Moleskine's notebooks are stylised to follow the aesthetics of a 'traditional' black notebook with rounded corners and ivory-coloured paper. They are bound in cardboard with a sewn spine that allows the notebook to lie flat. An elastic band is used to seal, and a ribbon bookmark is included along with an expandable pocket inside the rear cover which is packed in a paper banderole.

Like few others, Moleskine was among the first customers, between 2012 and 2014, in search of digital transformation ahead of its time; a crucial aspect to make its diary and design services accessible for use in the new mobility for smartphones and tablets. Came up with a visual design in order to provide the international brand Moleskine with an app that handles catalogues about its endless products for people of all ages, and for every occasion such as books, accessories, notebooks, diaries, bags, pens, pencils and even more promos to come

Wireframing

The objectives of the project covered: make moleskine notebook a digital app.
I was honored to have the opportunity to design the User Interface and Interactions for its first app mobile. During the design phase of the service it was necessary to face a series of complex translations from hand drawing to digital interactive one, in compliance with the Android platform

Styleguide

The guidelines built for this application have been generated based on the single universal rules for each requested platform. In that decade, however, new paths were being investigated to make the cross platform components design manageable. Not least, it was very challenging to create a basic layout to offer end users the ability to draw, annotate, write just as if it was a product that came out of the Moleskine branded stationery shop. All of the information design were created to provide the deploy process easy to update
